Built in 1996 by Swancraft Ltd of Norfolk, Hi-Falutin is a 26 foot cruiser with a beam of 9 feet 8 inches and a draught of 2 feet 2 inches, offering a considerable increase in living space compared with traditional river boats of a similar length.
She is powered by a Beta 38 hp diesel — a marinised Kubota — on a shaft, with a skeg protecting the prop and giving excellent tracking in a straight line.
Replaced since her present owners bought her in 2018: the hood, the gearbox, the cockpit seating, the toilet, the CD player and speakers, all ropes and fenders, the bow thruster propeller and the windscreen seals.
In June 2026 the whole cabin headlining was replaced and the internal woodwork refurbished, with some panels renewed. The vents and hatch were re-sealed. Two water tests were carried out beforehand to confirm that all topside leaks had been repaired.
